Scope and Contents

Jerry Antos is a retired Lieutenant for the SUNY Maritime College campus police force. Michael Perdoncin was a coworker of Antos and is the current Lieutenant for the SUNY Maritime College campus police force. In this interview they both reminisce on their time spent at SUNY Maritime college, how things have changed since Jerry Antos started in the 1980's, the trials and tribulations of being a campus police officer, and their favorite work stories.

Contents of Collection This collection includes several different types of registers kept by the administrators of the New York Nautical School (now SUNY Maritime College) in the early years of the institution. The Admissions Registers contain information regarding all the students who were admitted to the school between 1875 through 1944. Abstract

This collection primarly contains commencement programs, Awards Dinner programs, and invitations to the Award Dinner. Other materials include copies of commencement speaker speeches, program schedules, and college memos concerning commencement. Missing years from this collection include 1951, 2002-2003, 2015-2016, and 2018-2019.

Contents of the Collection This collection contains the Conduct Books of the New York Nautical School (now SUNY Maritime College). The Conduct Books are large register volumes where the administrators of the school recorded when a student misbehaved or broke school rules. A typical entry in these books includes the student’s name, the date of they entered to the school, a list of offences committed by the student with the date of the offence and the punishment the student received. Contents of Collection The SUNY Maritime College Student Files consist of individual files that include applications for admission, school transcripts, physical examination reports, and various types of correspondence. Some files contain photographs of the students as well as demerit records. The practice of keeping individual files for each student seems to have started around 1925 therefore files for students who graduated prior to that date are inconsistent and contain significantly less documentation.
