David Epstein Summer Sea Term Films, 1966-1980
This collection consists of 12 reels of film (all Super 8 or 8mm) dated from the 1960s-1980 depicting summer sea terms on the Maritime College training ships Empire State IV (training ship from 1959-1973) and the Empire State V (training ship from 1973 - 1990). Footage shows training drills, oceanography experiments, and leisure activities on the ships and at international ports.
Documenting COVID-19 Experiences at SUNY Maritime College, 2020
In March 2020, SUNY Maritime College was temporarily closed due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In May, the archivist sent a call for stories, images, and oral histories from students, faculty and staff of SUNY Maritime College to collect the impact the pandemic had on their lives.

Empire State II Records
The Empire State II was used by the New York State Merchant Marine Academy (now SUNY Maritime College) as its training ship from 1946 until 1956. The ship was used to train young men for careers in the Merchant Marines and the Naval Reserves. Materials in this collection largely consist of administrative documents, cruise itineraries, Captain Alfred Olivet's personal and professional correspondence during cruise, and news articles.
Empire State VI Records, 1990-2012
The Empire State VI was used by SUNY Maritime College as its training ship from 1990 to today. The ship was used to train cadets for their careers in the Merchant Marines and the Naval Reserves. This collection also contains administrative documents, cruise itineraries, correspondence, news articles and "Plan of the Day".

Felix Riesenberg (1879-1939) was an American seaman, explorer, engineer, and author of fiction and nonfiction. The collection contains personal papers and items, as well as copies of his published works.
Flying Finn, Inc. Records, 1954-1960
This collection documents the business activities of Flying Finn, Inc., which produced wooden pleasure boats in the 1950s and early '60s. Contents include company correspondence, advertising proofs and photographs of product lines, blueprints and drawings of boat models, and a history of the company.
Frederick M. Hendrickson Papers, 1902-1958
This collection contains letters, postcards, photographs, and papers of Frederick M. Hendrickson, a 1903 graduate of the New York Nautical School (now Maritime College).
Frederick S. McMurray Papers, 1890-1958
The collection documents the career and life of Frederick S. McMurray (1879-1958), beginning with his training at the New York Nautical School (now the SUNY Maritime College) on the Schoolship "St. Mary's" through his years as an instructor at the New York Nautical School and his service with the United States Navy.
