Sub-Series G: Library, 1757-1972
Scope and Contents
This sub-series consists of library borrowing registers (lists of books borrowed with who borrowed them and when they were returned) as well as volumes that had belonged to the library. Of particular note is a copy of "A voyage round the world" by John Turnbull (published 1813) signed by Herman Melville with the inscription "April 10th 1847 New York."

Conditions Governing Access
Appointments to examine materials must be made in advance. Please e-mail library@sunymaritime.edu for more information or to schedule an appointment.
Files containing personal information about residents are restricted for 50 years from the date of death of the individual. If the decease death is unknown, the files are closed for 72 years from the date the record was created.
