Scope and Contents
Seward's subject files contain publications on a variety of subjects that interested him professionally and personally. Topics include different types of ships and materials used to make them, ship components, and ship operations and procedures. Some subjects are highly specialized: among them, the uses of oakum and how to rat-proof a ship.
