Student Organizations Regulations, 1957 - 1962
Scope and Contents
The Italian Society was founded in 1956 by students with an interest in Itlaian culture and langauge. Ms. Filomena Magavero, Librarian at Maritime College, served as faculty advisor. The Italian Society hosted film screenings of Itlian films monthly, invited guest speakers once a semester, and attend events featuring Italian culture.
Such events include the Metropoltian Opera, tours of Itlian Liners, and lectures hosted by the America-Italy Society in New York City. The Italian Society was discontinued in 1963 due to lack of interest from students.
