Scope and Contents

The ship journal is Dilloway's diary for his time training aboard the training ship from June to August of 1946. The journal contains daily entries about Dilloway's life from a few days before his first boarding of the ship to the ship's stop in St. Petersburg, Florida.

The journal contains mementos that Dilloway saved from the trip, such as a carnation from Bermuda, several stamps collected from ports he visited, and an itinerary of the journey.
