Scope and Contents

Printed materials include Tode's diploma from the New York Nautical School; licenses issued by the Department of Commerce qualifying him to serve on various types of vessels; certificates issued by the U.S. Navy regarding his service; certificates of appointment to various positions, including as Chief Engineer of the Schoolship Newport, Vice President of the National Safety Council, and member of the New York State Merchant Marine Academy Board of Visitors; and certifcates of appreciation for his service in the Propeller Club.
