Empire State I Logbooks, 1931-1941

Scope and Contents This collection consists of the logbooks from the U.S.S Empire State one of the training ships used by the New York State Nautical School (now SUNY Maritime College) to train young men for the merchant marines and the naval reserves. The Empire State VI was used by SUNY Maritime College as its training ship from 1990 to today. The ship was used to train cadets for their careers in the Merchant Marines and the Naval Reserves. Jerry Antos is a retired Lieutenant for the SUNY Maritime College campus police force. Michael Perdoncin was a coworker of Antos and is the current Lieutenant for the SUNY Maritime College campus police force.
